Anti-Bullying

Amherst Primary School is committed to a policy of inclusion and equality. We always aim to provide a nurturing, caring and safe place for all our children so that they can learn and play in a supportive and secure environment.

We regularly take part in 'Anti-Bullying Week' every year and ensure children and staff in school know 'what' bullying is, how to identify it and what can be done, in a proactive way, to prevent it happening. This links with our school values as well as our school behaviour policy too.

We believe that bullying of any kind is unacceptable and will not be tolerated in our school. We take all incidents of bullying seriously as we all have a right to be safe and protected. We believe that when bullying is challenged effectively, pupils will feel safe.

Everybody has the right to be treated with respect at Amherst, so we ensure that if bullying takes place, it is fully investigated and support is put in place for all those involved.
